Terms of service

Last updated: 2026-06-14

These terms govern your use of JoyStick Academy. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

JoyStick Academy is a mobile-first learning app for game development, published by JoyStick Studios SARL AU (Casablanca, Morocco). The service includes the iOS and Android applications, the in-engine plugins, and the joystick-academy.com web properties.

Eligibility

The service is intended for users aged 16 and over. By using it you confirm you meet that requirement and can form a binding agreement.

Account and content

You agree to provide accurate signup information and to keep your account credentials secure. You retain ownership of any content you submit (notes, capstone submissions, comments) and grant JoyStick Academy a license to display it back to you and, if you opt in to community features, to other learners. You are responsible for the content you post.

Subscriptions and in-app purchases

Subscriptions, gem packs, and the lifetime tier are sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Pricing, billing, renewal, and cancellation are governed by the rules of the platform you purchased on, and refunds follow that platform's refund policy. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your store account settings.

Acceptable use

No abuse, harassment, scraping, reverse engineering, or circumventing rate limits or access controls. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice when feasible.

Intellectual property

The course content, software, in-engine plugins, brand, and marks are owned by JoyStick Studios SARL AU or its licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the service for your own learning; this does not transfer any ownership to you.

Disclaimers

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will lead to any particular learning or career outcome.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JoyStick Studios SARL AU is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Morocco, where JoyStick Studios SARL AU is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
